Sport 4 the Environment is launching an exciting and new
campaign to help reduce water consumption within the sporting
community. The ’60 Second Sports Power Shower’ is an educational
program that communicates a 60 second shower after playing sport,
training or working out as opposed to the 4 minute shower
communicated by government bodies.
The “60 Second Sports Power Shower” is a prime example and one of
our first initiatives to show Sport 4 the Environment is taking
action towards measureable outcomes.
"Sports Power Shower" Environmental
Goal
With 10.5 million Australians
actively participating in sport this initiative has the capacity to
save an enormous amount of water. The below figures are based on
the assumption that each participant takes 1 shower per
week.
10,500,000 x 52 = 546,000,000 Showers
Average Shower 7 minute = 98 litres
1 minute shower = 14 litres
Saving = 84 litres per shower
Total Saving = 45.8 billion litres
